I love to play around with colors subtly in my outfits by matching my sweaters to my coats in the winter time for a monochromatic look. I love how wearing the same tone of color or even an exact match of the color of your top to your outerwear really makes it look so put together with no to little effort. This particular outfit, I wore one of my favorite cozy sweater I found from Express which I already talked about in one of my previous post. This sweater comes with a detached snood but I really like the look of having the snood on under my peacoat like I did here so I noticed I never once wore it without the snood! I did find it convenient however to know that I had an option of removing the snood if I wanted to at indoors when I might feel a little too warm.
I also love blush and/or light pink colored clothes because I think it is just so pretty and delicate. I own a lot of blush colored clothes and that may be a surprise to some of you since you know my style is a bit edgy. Despite the fact that the color is just so lovely, I just absolutely love to mix soft feminine colors like blush to my subtly edgy outfits. The contrast of the two when worn together rebels against each other nicely and the result of that makes the whole look so much more intriguing. This sweater is off-white but has a hint of light pink undertone to it and it brought out the blush tones even more when I paired it with my light pink peacoat. I wore it together to achieve that monochromatic look along with my favorite comfy jegging and my OTK boots.
Lena’s X Factor: OTK Boots
Over-the-knee boots takes the X for sure in this outfit because it really adds that edge that is so needed against the soft colors. It really makes the outfit pop with a cool chic look because of these boots and adds that extra oomph!
