It was without a doubt my entire life my favorite color was red. I loved a good, deep, dark crimson red. Just like this top. Everyone that knew me knew my passion for red and would go out of the way to get me anything and everything red! I just loooved a good red. Then, slowly I noticed I gravitated toward white very gradually, little by little, more and more. As of last year, I couldn’t deny my love for white so much that I had to officially change my favorite color to white. I had to literally give myself the permission to be okay with admitting that my favorite color was no longer red but that I had changed, like with all things in life, and that my favorite color was now white. I had a hard time accepting that I had changed and gave myself a hard time for betraying my love for the color red and even deemed myself that I was not a loyal person. (True fact; so funny and so crazy!) I even struggled to understand myself and questioned how a person could go from loving a dark, bold red to a pure, clean white. How could a person change that drastically?
Guess what? People learn, grow and change constantly and in fact, it is a very good sign to see a change in a person than to not see it at all. Change is a sign of movement and moving is better than being constantly still. I finally don’t feel guilty to declare that my favorite color is white! It is okay to say I love white so much better. My whole house is basically designed and furnished white, I own a lot of white clothes now and I love Clorox to make it even more white! But, let’s not forget…my second favorite color is red!
In this outfit, I wore a soft, fitted, perfect red colored top from Nordstrom with one of my favorite jeans from American Eagle Outfitters with black ankle strap block heel pump. I completed the look with mini backpack and black stud earrings. I kept everything simple to give this an effortless look.
Lena’s X Factor: Black Ankle Strap Block Heel Pump
The block heel pump really gives this a chic look and really makes the whole outfit pop with some edge. It should be a block heel instead of a thin heel because that’s what makes this outfit playful, casual and effortless!
